RARE Excellent condition numbers matching Ithaca Factory Nickel Plated M49 Saddlegun Single Shot Lever Action chambered in .22 Short, .22 Long, and .22 Long Rifle. This is a single shot rifle made for the beginning shooter. Its rebounding hammer is hand operated and activated independently from the lever action. This means the gun cannot be fired unless the hammer is fully cocked – by hand. This rifle was manufactured from 1960 to 1979 mainly in a blued finish. The nickel plating was an expensive option and not many were produced making this a rare M49.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains 100% of its factory nickel plating and the markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates Excellent condition. Light scratches on the receiver that became noticeable after polishing as well as a small nick on the barrel as seen in the photos.
Mechanics: The action and extractor spring tension function perfectly strongly ejecting spent cartridges. We did test fire this rifle and it shoots straight and accurate – fun to shoot. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Our Assessment: Numbers Matching 1966 Ithaca M49 Saddlegun with the RARE Nickel Plated option and is in excellent overall condition and a great rifle for that beginning shooter.
